A few weeks ago, major news sources reported that Dying Light patch 1.05 was incoming. It appears that many non-U.S. gaming sites have confirmed the update is slowly going live. Alongside the inclusion of hard mode is a host of gameplay improvements designed to sweeten the experience. Because the news is so fresh, a full changelog is not available at this time.
Despite receiving somewhat modest review scores, “Dying Light” has become a massive hit with audiences around the world. In fact, recent U.K. sales numbers suggest the title was able to oust popular newcomers like “The Order: 1886” and “Evolve.”
Following the release of its 1.05 patch, new leaked footage showcases future DLC updates for the game. Added features include crossbow weapons and a mountainous area for driving dune buggy vehicles.
The news comes to via a video from the Games Reddit community. After installing the recently released 1.05 patch for Dying Light, it’s possible to watch a short clip of Paul Milewski from Techland thanking fans for their immense support. Amidst these kind words lie videos of DLC likely to release sometime soon.
“We’ve listened to your feedback, and we’re constantly working on ways to make your experience even better,” says the short leaked clip. While recapping the previous matchmaking and gameplay changes, one sees footage of DLC that includes crossbows and a dune buggy vehicle. That being said, for folks hoping to get in touch with their inner Daryl Dixon, the weapons will eventually be there to try.
As for the vehicles and dune buggies, those have been teased for quite some time. Diehard Dying Light fans might recall that Techland’s City Of Harran website includes the Uzun Mountains as a possible location. However, those that have played the game know that there’s no way to get there. Any area that would have belonged to the mountains appears grayed out on the city map. It certainly looks like the driver of those buggies is in a mountainous area, and it’s one that the current version of the game doesn’t include.
So what does this leak mean for future DLC plans? Nothing has been confirmed, but it’s suspected that the Uzon Mountains area will be a paid tier for those willing to part with cash or that have the season pass. As for the crossbow weapons, it’s possible those may be free. However, without official pricing from Techland, there’s no way to know with certainty.
